antonio's traces (animated)

Omid Alemi

This piece animates parts of Antonio's movement in the Improv scene overlayed on the drawings of the traces of his movements during the duration of the whole movement. This aesthetic visualization aims at helping the viewer to observe Antonio's movements in the context of his long-term movement structures.

The visualizations are created using the D3.js library, which is a flexible tool for creating web-based visualizations out of data. The data for this visualization is from the Kinect recordings of the Improv Scene.

If you are interested in a tutorial on how to visualize motion capture data using D3.js, you can take a look at this blog post.
